Ramblings of a homeschooling mom

I have taken the plunge into the world of homeschooling. My 2nd and 3rd grader are officially homeschoolers and my 4, 2 and 7 month old fit in there somehow, although I am still trying to fugure it all out.

Sunday morning

Where is the time going??? I need to get ready for Church but I really just want to stay in my bathrobe today and do NOTHING--or go jetskiing, LOL Doesn't llok like Dennis wants to make the trip to the coast. Not that I blame hime. It is at least two hours each way and with a car full of kids....Speaking of kids, I am wondering what vehicle we are going to move into since there is another Dowling on the way. My minivan can hold everyone without Dennis so I will still be able to run errands ect. HOW FUN dealing with 3 carseats and a booster seat.

I have been trying to decide on curriculum. There are so many and I do not want to purchase a bunch of stuff that I am not going to use. Over the week I have joined a lot of boards that list second hand HS stuff for sale and am thinking this is the way to go. I am also going to put the girls in missionettes even though it means Wednesday nights at church. This way I can skip buying a bible curriculum and just stick wiht doing a devotional, memory verse and a chapter of their kid's Bible. Cost--zero. Well within my budget.

So back to curriculum--my concern is really Izzy and reading and both in MATH. I want to make sure they are getting what they should be. Back to the boards today to see if I can find a math program for 2-3 or 3-4 grade. It is interesting to note that I have almost gone through a black inck cartridge withint this short amount of time--3 weeks of copying worksheets even though I am using the draft setting. I need to find a cheap supplier of ink. Add that to my ever growing list!
